Erich McVey is a destination wedding and editorial photographer based in Oregon, taking on a small number of weddings worldwide each year with quiet, unhurried attention.
Approach
Erich works quietly. He will give direction when it genuinely makes a picture better and stay out of the way when it would not, which is most of the day. The conviction behind that is simple: photography should add to a wedding, never compete with it.
Only a small number of weddings are taken on each year. It keeps the attention and the energy where they belong, and it means every couple gets the same care rather than whatever is left at the end of a full season.
He is based in Oregon with his wife and their two children, and photographs couples wherever the day takes them — mountains, coastlines, the desert, and a good deal of Europe.
